A beast. Period.

This is a beast of a hose, as you know, which is why you're looking at a 1 inch hose. Please note that it's difficult to find quality nozzles that aren't a complete rip off or aren't adjustable, but I bought this hose on Amazon and am very happy with it. It's big, and heavy, and industrial feeling.

I bought this hose, as I have a sump pump that pumps about 10,000 gallons a week. I created a diveter for the exhaust line which typically goes to the storm sewer. This is just a valve where I can re-direct the water out the vent fitting which is 1 inch PVC. I originally tried running that then into a standard 5/8 garden hose, but the back pressure created worked the pump too hard. It worked, but the on cycle time increased from 15 seconds to over 2 minutes. Viola, put this beast on there and no restriction and my on cycle time is back to 15 seconds. I may create some type of pvc fitting for the end, but for now, I just move the hose around periodically and let it deep water the yard. My grass has never looked better. This hose it the whip! It seems that PVC 1 inch standard pipe threads fit on this just fine. I put a PVC 1 in fitting that would typically fit into a coupler on the end to protect the threads.

I live on the Gulf coast of Texas and I just received this "Gilmour 10 Series 1-Inch Diameter 6 Ply Flexogen 1 Inch X 100 Feet 10-10100 Green" hose last week (fast shipping). I hooked it up straight to my submersible well pump capable of delivering up to 28gpm. I ran it for about 3 hours. I found no problems. The hose is thick and heavy, just what I wanted. The couplings appear to be heavy duty. The female coupling with 1" pipe threads requires no adapter to connect with the 1" nipple I have available on my system. I connected the hose without the use of any tools (hand tight) and after 3 hours there was no leak where the hose connected to my system, even with the 21psi back pressure created by the length of hose. The only drawback, and it's trivial, is that the hose is not perfectly round, presumably from being rolled tightly for shipping. I'm not even sure is this is a negative. For now I can recommend this hose and Amazon. If my opinion changes after further use I'll amend this review.
