This is the best hose I have ever owned!

These is one terrific hose. I have owned (and wrestled) many hoses and this is by far the best. Flexible even when cold, effortless coiling and slides very easily. Buy it instead of that other one!

disappointing

Purchased two Gatorhyde 100 foot hoses in summer of 2012. The hose are well-made, with nice brass connectors. Being made of recycled materials and drinking safe is a huge plus. But. . . this hose does kink if you do not stretch it to its full length and let it heat up in the sun for a while before using. (This is explained in the directions.) Despite following directions, one hose constantly kinks in two places. Both hoses leaked at the faucet connection. The company was responsive to my concerns. They requested a photo of the exact leakage and more information. I understand this as some people gripe about a product in order to get a free replacement when the product does not necessarily need to be replaced. However, I first replaced the washers which were installed on the Gatorhyde hoses and this helped slow drips at the faucet connection. As a comparison, my ACE and Gilmour hoses have never given me any trouble over many years of usage. The kicker came when trying to coil these hoses up. An exercise in frustration. They simply do not coil, not in 90 degrees, not in 50 degrees. Instead they made enormous loops, which is OK I guess, if you don't mind huge loops of hose taking up wall space in your barn or on your grass beside the well. I finally gave up trying to coil the Gatorhyde hoses. As winter came on, I ended up man-handling them into empty garbage containers for storage. Wrestling with a calf is easier, trust me. If other reviewers have advice on coiling the Gatorhyde hose, I would very much appreciate their input. Other than the dripping at the connection and coiling issues, the hose is serviceable.
